Personalized Math Prototype

Purpose - Why would I want to implement this PL Math prototype?
Welcome to MDC's PL Math Prototype implementation website. We have created a comprehensive, personalized learning instructional prototype that can be implemented in any technology enabled classroom. We strongly recommend implementing this prototype if:
-
You want to explore personalized learning, but you are not sure what it looks like in practice
-
Rather than design a personalized model from scratch, you prefer to test something others have tried
-
You have been using technology in your class, but you do not feel it is meeting the needs of all students
-
You want to give students more choice over the pace and path of their learning experience
Minimum Requirements - Am I even eligible to implement this prototype?
Prior to moving forward on this site to implement the math prototype, please read through the requirements carefully to confirm your eligibility to run this prototype.
-
You teach at least one class of math per day.
-
You have at least a 3:1 student to device ratio that you can use at least 3 x per week.
-
You have flexibility/autonomy to modify your own lesson plans and assessments.
-
Your classroom periods for math are at least 55 minutes long.
-
You have access to word problems and mini projects to use as Group Performance Activities and Assessments/Mastery Tasks.
-
You have a basic familiarity with classroom devices.
Scope - How will this site help me implement a PL Prototype?
Our goal is to give you all the guidance you need to implement a PL prototype. This site specifically will:
-
Provide an overview of the personalized learning prototype experience for students
-
Walk you through each stage of implementing a personalized instructional prototype
-
Define a set of metrics for you to track the effectiveness of your PL prototype
-
Suggest tips for increasing the level of personalization and rigor of your prototype
-
Offer self-help resources for answering all of your implementation questions
